  1. "I, (state name), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same…"

  2. It’s pretty fascinating, watching all this theatre as a far away foreigner.

I’m curious what country in the world would make an issue of a multiply-decorated veteran in a senior role showing up to give evidence in a trial of national import, and simultaneously sharply pointing out that he be addressed by his military rank, given that he’s not there in fancy dress. Oh, I’m sure if you saw him in jeans and a gardening T-shirt grabbing some milk and a paper at the nearest shop he’d be fine with being called Frank – or whatever – but in that place, in the seriousness of this deposition, to correct someone and tell them to call him by the rank which he has not only earned, but which his official service to the nation demands –

Well, pure theatre, from the Republicans, who seem to love such nonsense. We remember when they also made much ado of That time Obama wore a suit colour they didn’t like, etc etc etc. Here is someone giving an official deposition, but the narrative is about why on earth would a heavily decorated veteran want to be addressed by his rank, as though that’s the issue.

Of course, we also know how The Game is played – I’m sure that, if yer man (I’m so forgetful) said Sure, call me Frank/Mr Smith (me and names!), Fox News and Trump would be screaming what a disgusting Communist he is who hates America and disrespects veterans and has besmirched his precious rank and disrespects the army blah de blah.

It’s all a big bloody game to them, but at least he didn’t fall into that trap, and very appropriately pointed out the correct, formal way to address him, given the circumstances. I don’t think America’s Republicans have ever been thought of so badly all over the world as they are right now – I remember when Ronnie Reagan was elected, and that clod George W Bush, but This level of desperate wickedness, well……….

  3. I saw this in real time. The R are just smearing. This was brought up for one purpose, to smear. If you are in his district, never forget. If you vote for this guy, you support what he did, and is doing.

  4. Lt Col Vindman, you are a patriot and a true American. Your family is what America is all about. I'm sorry that zealots in their blind obedience to the Trump Party cult have attempted to change that narrative. Bless you and your family.

  5. I am still upset by Rep. Chris Stewart not allowing him to answer! This man earned the purple heart and has the right to wear his uniform! The fact that he wore it with pride demands its own recognition! Very moved by him and ANGRY with republican support for lying 'bone spur' trump.

  6. Mr Vindman…..NOT appropriate!!!!!!!!!!! Just know that you did not follow the Chain of Command!!!!!

  7. UNRELATED, BUT IMPORTANT: My thumbs up for comments are not being counted. (I can't be the only one.) The thumb icon turns blue, and the number changes TEMPORARILY, but then when I check back, the icon is still blue, but number has gone back to what it was. The result is a nearly-unnoticeable FAKING of public-opinion, that benefits Republicans.

  8. Thank you president Trump for standing up to the lies of the democrats. Impeaching Trump since November 2016. I will never vote for any democrat ever again.

  9. Hey guys, I need to attend my 33 year high school class reunion . Do you think it would be tacky if I wore my old football jersey?? I made All State!!!!! 🤔🤔🤔

  10. He's a Grunt who was wounded for the USA he can wear pampers to the hearings and he's earned that right. Even if he is a dogface and not a devildog.

  11. Vindman identifies as a soldier, his preferred pronouns are Lt Colonel, Sir and Colonel Vindman, please don't be rude and respect the Colonel's choice to identify as a soldier

  12. I think we should follow his example and make sure we respectfully refer to trump as President Bone spur. And make sure to point out the unusually long ties President Bone Spur wears and wink when we mention how he is over compensating for “something “.

  13. What a stupid controversy! Is he an active member of the armed forces? If so, then he should wear his dress uniform to a hearing. Why would anybody question that choice?

  14. We just put out a record with our single called KANDAHAR in honor of my buddy who lost his battle with PTSD when we got home. Please take a listen and share and subscribe vets helping vets! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeIaa3BCHC0&list=PLqGCaRUEalQ83ARsxGDBLWTxpgWuQcm2e&index=11

  15. Don't let a uniform and shiny badges blind you. Just because someone wears a uniform doesn't make them trustful, honest and an angel. Don't let the rank also blind you. The military is no different than a business. There's corruption in the military as well. There's the black market on selling weapons. Look at the Marines that were caught trafficking illegals. I don't trust this man at all. Just seeing him and how he presents himself he looks sneaky. I'm not a Trump supporter and didn't vote for him. I don't trust Trump either.
