CONNELL: THIS IS A HUGE PROTEST AND LOOK AT THESE CROWDS ONE OF THE LAUREST THEY’VE HAD IN HONG KONG SINCE 1997 MORE THAN 1 MILLION PEOPLE TAKING TO THE STREETS ACCORDING TO THE PROTEST PROTESTERS PROTESTING AGAIN A PROPOSED EXTRADITION LAW. IT’S CONTROVERSIAL TO PUT IT MILDLY, BUT WHAT THIS BILL WOULD DO WOULD ENABLE THE GOVERNMENT IN CHINA IN BEIJING TO DETAIN PEOPLE WANTED FROM THE SEMI- AUTONOMOUS REGION OF HONG KONG AND ANOTHER PROTEST IS PLANNED FOR WEDNESDAY WHEN LEGISLATORS ARE EXPECTED TO RESUME REVILLE OF THE BILL OF THE PARLIAMENT AND ASIAN STUDIES POLICY ANALYST AT HERITAGE. OLIVIA GOOD TO SEE YOU. I THINK FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVEN’T BEEN FOLLOWING WHAT’S HAPPENING IN HONG KONG CLOSELY STRIKING TO SEE THESE PICTURES COMING OUT OF THE CITY . WHAT DO YOU THINK HAPPENS NEXT HERE?>> MORE THAN 1 MILLION STRONG, THESE PROTESTS ARE SENDING A REALLY CLEAR SIGNAL FROM HONG KONG THEY WANT TO STAND FOR FREEDOM AND FREEDOM FOR HONG KONG MEANS NO EXTRADITION LAW PASSING BEINGS AND I THINK THAT WHAT COMES NEXT HOPEFULLY IS NOT JUST HONG KONG RAISING THEIR VOICE TO CALL FOR FREEDOM BUT ALSO FELLOW AMERICANS, FOLKS FROM ALL OVER THE GLOBE, EXPRESSING THEIR CONCERN, BECAUSE THE REALITY IS THIS LAW HAS IMPLICATIONS FOR MORE THAN JUST THE PEOPLE OF HONG KONG. IT HAS IMPLICATIONS FOR AMERICAN BUSINESSMEN WHO ARE THERE FOR INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS, PEOPLE WHO ARE THERE WHO COULD LITERALLY BE EXTRADITED TO CHINA , FROM HONG KONG, AT A MOMENT’S NOTICE. CONNELL: LET’S TALK ABOUT THAT A LITTLE BIT AND JUST FOR OUR VIEWERS I’LL POINT OUT THAT I’LL BE IN HONG KONG AS OF WEDNESDAY JUST AS LUCK WOULD HAVE IT WE’RE GOING TO THERE TO DO SOME REPORTING ON CHINA MOSTLY NEXT WEEK ON THE SHOW YOU’LL HEAR MORE ABOUT IT WHEN THE TIME COMES BUT THIS EVENT COMING UP MEANS THAT WEDNESDAY IN THAT CITY WILL BE A HUGE DAY AS THE BILL GOES TO THE PARLIAMENT SO I WANT TO PICK UP ON THE LAST POINT YOU’RE SAYING FOR AMERICANS DOING BUSINESS AND THIS IS A PLACE WHERE A LOT OF BUSINESS IS DONE IN HONG KONG, WHAT WILL THE IMPACT BE IN THE SHORT-TERM OF THIS PASSES ON THIS WEEK?>> IF THIS PASSES THE IMPACT ON BUSINESS IS POTENTIALLY CRIPPL ING. IT MEANS THAT INDIVIDUALS, AMERICAN BUSINESSMEN, INTERNATIONAL BUSINESSMEN, HONG KONG REALLY COULD BE EXTRADITED AT BEIJING’S VERY REQUEST, AND SO I THINK — CONNELL: I WONDER IF PEOPLE WILL JUST STAY AWAY, P.M. WILL JUST MOVE OUT, IS IT THAT DRAMATIC DO YOU THINK PEOPLE MAKE THOSE TYPES OF DECISIONS?>> IT WILL HAVE A CHILLING EFFECT ON BUSINESS AND ONE THAT MY COLLEAGUE, TERRY MILLER PEN NED AN OP-ED FOR THE WALL STREET JOURNAL AND HE SAID THIS MAY ACTUALLY IMPACT HONG KONG’S PLACE AM AS NUMBER ONE THE MOST ECONOMICALLY FREE COUNTRY IN THE WORLD INHERITED ECONOMIC FREEDOM AND IT MAY ACTUALLY DROP ITS SLOT. CONNELL: YOU GUYS HAD A NUMBER ONE HERITAGE HAD A NUMBER ONE IN TERMS OF ECONOMIC FREEDOM RIGHT? SO THAT’S GOING –>> IT HAS. CONNELL: FOR LIKE 20 YEARS WOW AMAZING OLIVIA THANK YOU.

  1. Strange, why would Fox send reporters (middle of the road) who know nothing about Hong Kong, its history, the severe problems with Communist China, and the attempts to obliterate freedoms and personal rights in Hong Kong, etc. Don't pretend that Fox has any international reporting authority at all, and least of all should be observing critical security events like this one from less than 6,000 miles away or on the tube! Sorry, but follow the lead of the Administration and do what you are told not what certain Fox communists tell you to do. CNN, MSNBC and other fake news morons are in every sense of the word TRAITORS AND WORK AGAINST THE SECURITY INTERESTS OF THE US. sm

  2. Once a people tasted freedom it's difficult to enslave them again. Except in the West where you introduce political correctness and teach them to hate their own countries, histories and cultures

  3. Extradition Law? Nope. This leads to forced relocation for the people of Hong Kong who are arrested for false crimes and who will then be replaced with the party elites from the mainland. China has a bad habit of using immigration as a slow creep to taking over and annexing neighbors. Inner Mongolia, Tibet, etc. Next in line, Hong Kong, then Taiwan.

  4. Fake news by American Fox. Hong Kong Taiwan Tibet Mongolia Vietnam are all part of great China. We can do whatever we want with our territory.

  5. Does this action from the Chinese actually surprise anyone? In the end Hong Kong is doomed anyway. People need to get out while they can. Giving it to China was an an of cowardice

  6. Does this action from the Chinese actually surprise anyone? In the end Hong Kong is doomed anyway. People need to get out while they can. Giving it to China was an act of cowardice

  7. Never seen people that united for 16 years since birth, literally made me weeping in front of the live stream seeing how the government is ruining my home city

  8. Please share it to let more people know what is happening in Hong Kong. As a Hongkoner, I am so thankful for the support from everyone. We are try our best to fight back to China.

  9. This is why I don't want China to become too powerful. Communist dictatorships are just plain wrong. Thank God President Trump is addressing the China problem.

  10. Hong Kong makes China suffer.
    China fears Hong Kong.

Hong Kong (/ˌhɒŋˈkɒŋ/ (listen); Chinese: 香港, Hong Kong Cantonese: [hœ́ːŋ.kɔ̌ːŋ] (listen)), officially the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, is a special administrative region on the eastern side of the Pearl River estuary in southern China.

    Y'SHUA owns Hong Kong.

  11. Sorry but currently Hong Kong is part of China. It is only "semi"- independent. Hong Kong should have made a move for INDEPENDENCE when the British left.

  12. I was in there. Those stupid police said”we estimated there might be 20000 people” when there’s actually 1000000

  13. Hong Kong people, you have to act now and do not stop until your demand is met.
Don't let time is passing by and people will get used to with China's dictatorship just like what is happening in Vietnam right now.
After over 40 years of dictatorship Vietnamese people get used to with China's communist. They don't want to fight anymore. So don't let this happens to Hong Kong. Act now!

  14. so sad, i thought the lady was gonna say "about also the people of other cities in china who have their rights abused", no….. "about american businessmen"…oh… fox, no wonder….and fox business, that explains it, bad for business….. so righteous, it all makes sense now…..

  15. Respect 21st century chinese Imperialism, you know chinese Imperialism is better and more moderate than Western Imperialism, LOL.

  16. Well before people were just mysteriously disappearing and appearing in the mainland. So, why pretend it wasn't happening. That's when something fails: when you allowed the beginning stages to happen. This is now just legal tying up. Plus all those crowds are going to end up with their faces in China's social credit monstrosity for walking outside in protest so freely. The US knew this, as did the UK, when the handover took place but thought they'd collapse the PRC prior to actual absorption. The first mistake was opening up the world economy to China which opposite of what Nixon stated was more an extortion game where China said if he US wouldn't support them then they might assist Russia as per Kissinger's "On China." China, with Mao and Deng and Jiang Zemin has consistently had better leadership than any Bush-Clinton-Bush-Obama lineup.

  18. I hope Hong Kong will gain independence from China.

Also, Hong Kong will once again become the richest city in Asia when it becomes independent.

  20. Hong Kong no longer number one in economic freedom! Imagine that… Do you even know what that means??? 🙂

  21. free HongKong!
and why the heck did Britain give HongKong to PRC? Britain should have given HongKong to Republic of China…

  22. Why can Hong Kong transfer criminals to other countries but not to China?
Opponents of the bill question the fairness and transparency of the Chinese court system. But where is the PROOF?
Show us the proof of witness accounts of citizens in China being forcefully detained without legal due process.
Aren’t the protesters aware how Hong Kong actually began?
China lost Hong Kong to Britain over the British opium war.
Many western countries including the US and Canada claimed to be ruled by laws.
Weren’t some western countries deliberately shipping their garbage to the southeast Asian nations?

  23. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Western intelligence agencies such as Britain's Secret Intelligence Service (SIS) and the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) are involved in this operation again.

  24. Western media and politicians echo repetitive rhetoric that is used as a trick in advertising.
If someone repeats something, a person can be trained to think a certain way. When people hear things over and over, it sticks in their minds.
Western media question the fairness and transparency of the Chinese court system. But where is the PROOF?
Show us the proof of witness accounts of citizens in China being forcefully detained without legal due process.

  25. The extradition bill has been criticized by Western governments. But it's ok for Canada to extradite (non Canadians, Huawei’s CEO) to America, but China can't even extradite its own citizen from one region to another. Isn't this hypocrisy?

Why don’t they protest against the same extradition laws between Hongkong and the US.
Doesn’t America have a rule of law where she can simply sanction, attack or invade weak sovereign nations at its whims and wills?

  26. US, UK, Hong Kong separatists, Taiwan separatists, Tibetan separatists, and Xinjiang separatists. The above is arranged in the order of benefiting from this protest.

And, anyone who blame china here, can you explain the difference between Meng Wanzhou's (the daughter of Huawei's boss) being arrested in Canada and this event?

So, there is an unspeakable truth here: US and China do the same thing, US is justice, and China is evil.
How double standard it is! Are you really democratic people? Or you actually don't care about the truth and just reflexively supports "DEMOCRA-" like Pavlov’s dog? Don't forget that
during the 156 years of British colonization, the Governor of Hong Kong was appointed rather than elected. Which one is more democratic, China or UK?

If you really support HongKong's protestors, convince your government to abolish all extradition laws first. If you can't do it, please shut up and care more about your own business.

  27. American Liberals support communism. We should trade them to China for chinese freedom dreamers.

  28. Cold War never ends as western media keep propagating the idea that CCP is evil and every policy made by CCP is inhumane. If you did nothing against Chinese law, why would you think you’re under threat?

  29. China is taking out hk and Trump should speak out against China influencing the independent judiciary of HK!! China is going to the dark path of global dominance! Next is Taiwan! Stop China! ⭐️

  30. it is not china extradition law. it is hong kong extradtition law. why are these western media so dishonesty and dirty.

  31. So no one gonna mention it here that is all because one hongkong guy killed his gf in taiwan and because there is no extradition law, they can't put this guy in the jail….

  32. Don't be biased by watching these Anti Chinese western propaganda. The truth about HongKong protests.👇👇👇 https://youtu.be/PCokRDKR89c

  33. You'll never see this kind of protest in mainland China. This proves HK has freedom under One Country Two Systems.
Extradition Law takes freedom away from criminals, not from law-abiding citizens.

  34. There is comment below mine from Giacc S “The extradition law ~IS~rule of law, you dimwitted”. What kind of freak did this comment come from? Extraditing so called “criminals” to pure evil Chinese Communist Party is rule of law?

  35. Blessings to HK. As if anyone truly believed the Chinese could be trusted when the Brits handed over the territory in 1997. That was a laugh!

  36. I think I'll head on over to RT now to troll the very trolls who speak so highly of China and acts like we need to follow suit here in America see what they got to say now!!

  37. People in Hong Kong are screwed if this Chinese Extradition Bill passes. People are living in fear right now. This new law if passed as expected also applied to U.S. citizens if they are on the hit-list when they are physically in Hong Kong.

CCP (Chinese Communist Party) won't listen to the voice of Hong Kong people. You just cannot teach an old dog new tricks. With this new law in place, CCP has full power to legalize its action in kidnapping and arresting anyone who criticizes CCP brutal regime at will.

  38. God bless Hong-Kong and their valiant fight for freedom and democracy, America's heart is bleeding for Hong-Kong.

  39. It’s a shameless hypocrisy about US interfering in elections or national affairs of many countries in the world.

Our US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced publicly that the US will do everything possible to make sure that Jeremy Corbyn does not become the UK's next prime minister. For the last 100 years until today US has been interfering in elections or national affairs of many countries in the world.

  40. Protest n demonstrators or march r normal now a day! The France protest seems no end, n now heading into its fourth-month, The yellow vest movement is igniting similar protests elsewhere in Europe.

  41. Democracy? Julian Assange is being tortured in England right this moment because, of freedom of speech. You mugs! Hong Kong phooey… there is no such thing as democracy… get it or not? Where’s your brain at?

  42. Freedom is the inner world, conscience is not guilty of any crime, not even knock at the door in the middle of the night. A persons thoughts (conscience) They do the things of the law according to their nature, and though they have no law, they themselves are their own law. This is the work of the law written in their hearts, and their hearts are divided together, and their thoughts are weighed against one another, [whether it be] right or wrong. 。 1 John 1:9
[9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just, and will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

  43. President Trump makes Hong Kong Great Again. This protest is a total stand up against brutal and ruthless communism.Yes see. More than one million people. If the USA really choose the right migrant into the country. You should give these people the priority. They are all extremely hard work , most willing to learn , and above all most of them are fluent in the English Language under the more than century old British Colonization.

  44. Either lion, fox or wolves all they frightened traps.
Consequently and frequently communist China knows how to use new tactic, settings the traps in the Hong Kong territory for them own shakes. However, this time is turning point for the last chance for Hong Kong society to be free for human rights and the freedom of press.., and Hong Kong people will fight for this right to the end.

    Quotes by: Niccolò Machiavelli
"The lion cannot protect himself from traps, and the fox cannot defend himself from wolves. One must therefore be a fox to recognize traps, and a lion to frighten wolves."
    (Italian politician, writer and author)

  45. If you do any kind of business in China, sometime you need/have to gave some "advantage"(or bribe) to the government official. If you don't, you can't do any kind business in China, or worse there are going to have some make up charges against you!!!Or if you are a reporter writing news article for government corruption or speak the truth somethings happen in China. So if the extradition law pass, the HK Police can arrest you make up or alleged crime(s) you allegedly committed and send you back to China for trial(no visitation right, no transparency trial, or cross-examining witnesses, etc ). Even though they don't have any substantial evidence from the Chinese government, they can still issue arrest warrant and take you back to China!!!!

  46. 不要被西方所谓的民主给绑架! 在西方社会,有色人种是没有所谓的自由的!!!!你见过美国亚裔总统吗!? 我至少知道我们中国人的领导人是中国人!!!

  47. As an Uyghur people, I’m standing with Hong kong 🇭🇰 People!
    Never stop fighting for freedom!
    FREE UYGHUR AND HONG KONG

  48. I am a Hong Kongese without any support from foreign countries’ forces, and I can tell that we ARE NOT AGREE to let this bill passed, Chinese government NEVER treat us as one of their own buddies EVEN Hong Kong is one of the city in China. Every time we send our donations to charity when our “lovely motherland” in a hard time. But what are the exchanges ? SARs as a “gift” to HK which caused the deaths of hundreds of lives in 2003? “The 150 Policy” to let at least 150 Chinese people to occupy our accommodation and resources everyday? Or a honour to play as a “prey” to let those fake Hong Kong policemen (Public security form Mainland) to hunt us down during the demonstration? LMAO 😂

We are facing a “genocide” by our country but we can not stop it 😞

  49. Would be great if the United States would protest just like Hong Kong is doing against the evil and dictatorship of the Trump Administration

  50. Now this's the that I'm predicting how the left is going to react . If President Trump will go hard on China if Hong Kong law pass, the fascist, racist left going to blame Trump because his reaction to china new law is too tough and which will bring us to baby a war with China, but if Trump will react smoothly or even if he doesn't react, the fascist, racist left will blame the President for his soft reaction or not reaction at all. just follow the story and you'll see what I predicted above will be True! Now you will yourself, if I am a prophet, yes as far as the left reactions concern, I'm a prophet and you too can be a prophet! it has 2-1/2 years that I've been following ALL the racist, fascist left reaction to EVERY step that Trump mad, they never gave him any credit and will never ever give him, but inside their sick mind , THEY KNOW the this president has done ONLY good thinks for this country and that why they WON'T give him any credit>

  51. You have to fear a flashpoint that ends up in violence. Beijing should consider rescending the extradition bill. They officially blamed the USA which makes about as much sense as the recent spate of tanker attacks in the strait being of American origin. But the liberal media has found themselves at yet another unintended intersection. They cannot pile on Trump without siding with Beijing!
