Marcelito Pomoy and Ruru Madrid Join International Organization’s Effort to Uplift OFWs in Japan

Songs and performances admired by millions of people in different parts of the world. All these and more are what people are waiting for on television and on social media. Today, these are personally witnessed here in Nagoya, Japan. This musical presentation is a part of the Aid for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) organized by the Iglesia Ni Cristo. The OFWs here are working endlessly, of course, they are sad, and that’s the reason we came here to make them happy. We are excited about the coming of celebrities here, especially of Marcelito Pomoy. He is of great help to OFWs-he gave us joy, which lessened our sadness here. Marcelito Pomoy is just one of the performers accompanied by Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) to deliver performances to our fellowmen. The Church Of Christ is not only found in the Philippines — it is now global. I am overjoyed for they have invited me to events like this for so many times already, and I did not expect that. It is a great honor for me to be with them. The siblings Rere and Ruru Madrid also gave entertainment to OFWs. We Filipinos who are residing in the Philippines, what we know is, the life of an OFW is just easy. For they are able to enjoy the country they are in, the cold climate, delicious food. What we don’t know is that they encounter great hardship here. They always get exhausted, so, as for me, I didn’t have second thoughts joining this kind of activity, for in simple things like this one, we give great delight to OFWs. I’m super happy, I really enjoyed it. Sadness is lessened. Aside from the entertainment prepared for OFWs, each attendee received goodwill bags. Gatherings like these serve as a big reunion for Filipinos in this place. They were also delighted in their get-together. The most important part of Aid for OFW is the Evangelical Mission. As decreed by the Executive Minister of the Church Of Christ, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, the study of God’s words was led by Brother Glicerio Santos Jr., Minister of the Gospel. There are so many things we just learned. In the first place, it is what matters the most, the food for the soul. For me, listening to God’s teachings gave my mind great enlightenment. About the worship of one true God. What I treasure the most is the last part of his speech for I listened attentively. I learned a lot from the declaration of Christ-we must return to God. I give many thanks to the Church Of Christ, for inviting us here, and I hope that more people will be invited to the events of the Church Of Christ. Church Of Christ members headed home overjoyed not only because they were able to care for their fellow OFWs whom they’ve invited to this event, but also because they are able to fulfill God’s commandment to love their fellowmen. From Nagoya, Japan I am Brother Montriville Boy for the Iglesia Ni Cristo News Network.
