Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi
has asked for Myanmar boy band Project K to train in South Korea. In a meeting on Tuesday on the sidelines of
the special ASEAN-Korea summit Myanmar’s state counsellor asked President Moon whether Myanmar’s
Project K boy band could get K-pop training sessions. President Moon said that nurturing Project
K could symbolize the strengthened cultural cooperation between the two countries and
added he will look into programs that support foreign idol groups. Project K is a Myanmar boy band in the style
of K-pop group. They won second prize in the K-Pop International
Cover Dance Competition in Seoul this October.
